Sony Goes AI with 4K Camcorders

Sony’s new HXR-NX800 and PXW-Z200 4K camcorders offer AI-based autofocus, live streaming, and a compact design

Sony has released of two new 4K handheld camcorders, the HXR-NX800 NXCAM™ and the PXW-Z200 XDCAM™, both set to hit the market in September. These latest models come equipped with cutting-edge AI technology for subject recognition, high-precision autofocus, and auto framing.

The HXR-NX800 and PXW-Z200 boast a 1.0-type Exmor RS™ CMOS sensor and a newly designed 20x optical zoom lens, making them ideal for broadcast, corporate, and educational use. They offer recording and streaming capabilities and support a range of formats including XAVC and MXF.

Key features include a variable ND filter, customisable lens rings, and a compact design with a foldable viewfinder and LCD monitor. Both cameras also support live streaming through various network connections and offer file transfer options with advanced codecs.

The HXR-NX800 and the PXW-Z200 are both priced at £2,538.
