DJI’s mini powerhouse

Posted on Dec 25, 2023 by Samara Husbands

At 249g, meaning it can fly without restrictions in many places, the new DJI Mini 4 Pro has omnidirectional obstacle sensing and Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems with auto braking and obstacle bypass technology for maximum safety

Its camera has a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, new image processor and dual native ISO. The f/1.7 lens helps capture 48-megapixel images, 4K/60p HDR video and slow motion at 4K/100p. There’s 10-bit D-Log M recording to maximise dynamic range in post. And digital video zoom magnifies photos up to 2x and videos up to 4x.

Enhanced noise reduction in Night Shots video mode delivers clear, clean footage even in low light. Flight times reach 34 minutes, further extended to 45 minutes using the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus. And thanks to DJI’s flagship O4 video transmission, there is fast and responsive flight control and smooth 1080p/60p FHD video transmission from distances up to 20km/12.4 miles. And the Mini 4 Pro’s Advanced Return-to-Home system navigates a safe route back to base.

The drone features ActiveTrack 360°; QuickShots for moves such as Circle, Helix, Rocket, Boomerang and Asteroid; and even hyper-lapse or panorama shots.

The Mini 4 Pro basic kit comes in at £689/$759 and includes an RC-N2 Remote Controller, battery and cables, or for £869/$959 the basic remote control is replaced by the RC 2 Remote Controller.

The £979/$1159 Fly More Combo adds two extra batteries, spare propellers, a shoulder bag and two-way charging hub.
